Silvia Colloca is an Italian-born food lover living in Sydney, Australia and has claimed the mantle of Passionate Italian Home Cook in Australia since arriving here in 2009. She share unfussys, delicious, recipes that have been passed down through her family for generations. Her food is traditional, authentic, simple, and embedded in it is the legacy of her mother and grandmother. She has authored three books Silvia's Cucina, Made In Italy and La Dolce Vita and has hosted Made in Italy on SBS, and the ABC's Silvia's Italian Kitchen.

Spent my four day Cup weekend making the pages sticky, as I baked two different loaves with my sour dough starter that I'd been working on for over a week, as well as catering for 'meat free Monday' with the delicious (and easy!) leek and spinach pie. Am now eying off Silvia's Italian cornetti for next weekend's breakfast.

About the Author


Food lover Silvia Colloca is a woman of many talents: professional actress, trained opera singer, published author, blogger and sensational cook. After spending her childhood in the kitchens of her mother and grandmothers, Silvia absorbed much of their Italian culinary heritage. 


Since moving to Australia several years ago, Silvia has kneaded, beaten, rolled, chopped and pounded her way to an authentic Italian identity in her Sydney kitchen. Silvia is married to actor Richard Roxburgh and they have two sons, Raphael and Miro. 

Silvia's successful first cookbook, Silvia's Cucina, was published in 2013, and she has just finished filming her debut television series, Made in Italy with Silvia Colloca, which will air on SBS.
